NICKERSON is committed to helping organizations making a difference in our community ~ NICKERSON is participating in the 20th Rodman Ride for Kids this year on September 26, 2010 as Team Nickerson! Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for Housing Families Inc., an organization dedicated to end homelessness in Massachusetts. Support our cause and donate here!

Housing Families Inc. was created in 1986 by community organizers that wanted to address the issue of family homelessness. Since its' inception, it has grown to operate 49 units of temporary shelter and 45 units of affordable rental housing for families earning less than 30% of the area median income. All families that reside in this housing participate in supportive services designed to increase economic security and family stability. In addition to case management and housing advocacy, Housing Families provides a Children's Program that combines educational and emotional support for homeless and recently housed children to help them attain a future without poverty, thereby ending the cycle of intergenerational homelessness.
